Dr Khalid Hassan Baloch

Dr Khalid Hassan Baloch is one of the big names in profession of Orthopedic Surgeons of Pakistan. He was one of the first orthopedic surgeons of Pakistan

Dr Khalid was born on 7th June 1951 in Zhob district of Baluchistan in an impoverished region. He belonged to a conservative family from a village. He worked very hard from his childhood to become one of the best surgeons of Pakistan.

His services are admirable the to the people of the country. He was the head of department of Orthopedics Baluchistan Medical college and Civil Hospital Quetta.

Career:

The College of Physician Surgeons of Pakistan took up the main task of providing qualified orthopedic surgeons. The college was established as an examining body for general surgery after a specified training in recognized institutions in 1962. the first batch of specialists was produced in 1968. due to demand in specialization the first exam was held in 1986, when two student were successful Dr. Ghulam Mehboob who is now profession or and head of department at Jinnah post graduate Medical Centre, Karachi, and '''Dr. Khalid Hassan Baloch''', who worked as a professor and head of department in Bolan Medical College Quetta, a department which he started.Thereafter the college has produced 134 fellows in orthopedics, who are in different Medical Colleges, working and training students for the fellowship of the college.

He used to practice in Civil Hospital and also in his private clinic. He used to see patients absolutely for free for 1-2 days in a week at an hospital in Quetta.

Dr Khalid was the head of department of Orthopedic in Balochistan from 1995 to December 2008


Life:

He led a very busy life serving his patients and died on 25th January 2009 due to Hepatitis C. He left two children with his wife Dr Razia khalid , who is an anesthesiologist. He is gone but will be remembered for his jolly good humor and the way he treated people. Dr Khalid bring light to many lives , he cured patients and at the same time made them happy with his jokes.

He also devoted his time to religion and performed Haj several times along with his wife. He looked after everyone he came across his family , relatives and responded in their time of need.

He was highly respected figure among his colleagues and his patients.

Ailment and Death:

Unfortunately he was diagnosed with the deadly disease Hepatitis C in 2004 , he underwent major treatment for 6 months with Pygasis and showed signs of improvements and Hepatitis virus result came negative.

After one year his condition deteriorated again virus recurrence took place, treatment was carried out again from March 2008 to August 2008 which showed that the virus is not there anymore. Who knew that it would come back for him, his condition worsened again and there were signs of liver failure, Arrangements were made for a liver transplant that was to be carried out in India sponsored by the Government of Pakistan.

In his last moments his did not believe he will depart this world leaving so many eyes with tears, he was not able to go for a transplant and died at Quetta on 25th January 2009 at 4:45 AM.

He was taken to burial in his village.
His famous phrase that is remembered the most among his loved ones is "Janab e Wala"

He will always be remembered by his loved ones and by those whose life he profoundly touched with his good deeds and love.
